MadBoy: Hey, am gonna shoot you down!!
(couple of shots were fired)
Well, hello guys, I know if you are here, you are probably looking for a fix to play your online game with no lag due to network issue (PS. This fix does not take care of anything related to your PC Performance lag). Basically, online games can seriously lag if you are having a high ping, your gameplay may seem out of sync with other online players. This issue will probably make it impossible to continue playing, or the server may disconnect as having high ping can cause a problem for other players online as well.
Luckily though, there is an easy fix which we are gonna share it with you. You could lower your ping by changing your Domain Name System (DNS).
How to do that?
Let’s jump into it
Take Control Panel, and navigate as follows: Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
Once you click on it, you get a new pop-up window showing you the current network statistics. Over there, select “Properties” towards the bottom left.
Once you click that, another pop-up window is presented to you. In the list of items, select the item that says “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and then select “Properties” at the bottom right.
Ok, I know, you got another Pop-up window. Right?
This is the final one, just bear this with me. If you have the window showing “Obtain DNS Server address automatically” as the selected option, please change it to “Use the following DNS server addresses” and type down numbers as shown in the fig. This is the Public DNS provided by Google and is found to have low ping.
There, you are done.
